Charity Job Profiles / Descriptions
The charity industry is one of the most rewarding industries to be involved with but also it can involve some emotional and difficult situations working with those a lot less fortunate than others. Salaries are generally lower than in the private sector but there are good opportunities for career development.
Work is often within charities and not for profit organisations and is often called the third sector. Some of the larger charities include, for example, Oxfam, Red Cross, Barnado's, Age UK, British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research.
